The CPC Hunan Provincial Committee held a meeting on talent-related work in Changsha on the morning of February 15, 2022. Zhang Qingwei, secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and director of the Standing Committee of the Hunan Provincial People’s Congress, attended and delivered a speech.

He asked to profoundly grasp the essence of President Xi Jinping’s new ideas, strategies, and measures in talent-related work in the new era; implement the spirit of the central conference on talent-related work; carry out the strategy of talent cultivation for building a strong province in the new era; build itself into a national hub for talent and innovation; and, strive to write a brilliant chapter on Hunan’s talent cultivation in the new era.

Mao Weiming, deputy secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and governor of Hunan Province, presided over the meeting. Zhu Guoxian, deputy secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee, attended.

The virtual meeting was held spontaneously at sub-venues of each city and prefecture across Hunan Province. Provincial leaders Wang Shuangquan, Li Dianxun, Wang Cheng, Wu Guiying, Sui Zhongcheng, Xie Weijiang, Wei Jianfeng, Yang Haodong, Zhang Yingchun, Nan Xiaogang, and Chen Fei, as well as Tian Hongqi, president of the Central South University, were present at the main venue.

The CPC Hunan Provincial Committee Talent-related Work Leading Group hosted a session before the meeting. It reviewed the “Implementation Opinions of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and the People’s Government of Hunan Province on Further Promoting the Strategy of Talent Cultivation for Building a Strong Province in the New Era, and Striving to Establish a National Hub for Talent and Innovation (Discussion Draft)”, “Hunan Provincial Talent Plan Management Measures”, “Work Rules for the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee Talent-related Work Leading Group”, “Work Rules for the Office of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee Talent-related Work Leading Group”, and, “2022 Key Points of Talent-related Work in Hunan Province”.
