Passengers Urged to Remain Vigilant Against COVID-19 During Spring Festival Return Trip

The Hunan railway authority has taken various measures to respond to travel peak after the Spring Festival holiday, so as to strengthen epidemic prevention and control and ensure the safety of passengers. 

Stations across the province have taken strict anti-epidemic measures such as temperature measurement before entry, checking health QR codes, and asking people to wear a mask. From 7:00 am every day, seats in waiting halls, ticket check machines, elevators, and other facilities are disinfected in every four hours. Medical supplies including first-aid kits, masks, and thermometer guns are available in waiting halls.

Five automated health code check machines were installed in Changde Railway Station. The machines can automatically measure passengers’ body temperatures and check their health codes when passengers swipe their ID cards. Three security patrol robots were set up at the entrance of Yiyang Railway Station. The robots work in fully autonomous mode. Free nucleic acid tests are offered at the east and west exit halls of Changsha South Railway Station.

The Changsha bullet train maintenance station has conducted a thorough disinfection on seats, washrooms, doorknobs, trash cans, and other settings where passengers are easily exposed to viruses. During train operation, technicians have adjusted ventilation quantity of air conditioners according to passenger flow.

The Hunan railway authority reminds that returned passengers could check anti-epidemic policies of places of departure and destinations on Tielu 12306, an official China train app for booking tickets. Those traveling to Beijing must provide negative results of nucleic acid tests taken in the 48 hours before arrival and a green health code.
