The centralized commencement ceremony for Changsha’s major projects was held on the morning of February 7, the first working day after the Spring Festival holiday. This aimed to focus on the strategic positioning, missions and tasks of the “Three Hubs and Four New Missions” Strategy, vigorously implement the strategy of strengthening the provincial capital, and promote Changsha’s high-quality development. The main venue was set up at the construction site of Desay Battery Energy Storage Cell Project of Wangcheng District. Wu Guiying, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and secretary of the CPC Changsha Municipal Committee, announced the commencement of projects. Zheng Jianxin, deputy secretary of the CPC Changsha Municipal Committee, mayor of Changsha, and secretary of the CPC Working Committee of the Hunan Xiangjiang New Area, delivered a speech.
 
A total of 256 projects each worth over 50 million are expected to start construction in the first quarter of this year. The total estimated investment is 177.8 billion yuan, with 47.6 billion yuan planned this year. Among them, 188 projects started construction on Feb. 7. The total investment is estimated to be 150.2 billion yuan, with 34.5 billion yuan planned this year. In terms of projects’ scale of investment, it is estimated that there are 6 projects each with an investment of 5 billion yuan and above, 35 projects each with an investment of 1 billion yuan and above, and 54 projects each with an investment of 500 million yuan and above.
