The China National Petroleum Corporation (PetroChina) supplied 13.77 million cubic meters of pipeline natural gas to Hunan Province on January 29, 2022. It was estimated that 72 million cubic meters of natural gas will be supplied to Hunan Province during the Spring Festival, with an average daily supply of more than 10 million cubic meters, an increase of 18% year on year.

PetroChina Hunan Company is the main force of natural gas supply in Hunan Province. In response to the low temperature, rain, snow, and freezing weather, the company has taken various measures to ensure the safe and stable supply of natural gas during the Spring Festival. It has increased safety input, reasonably arranged personnel, prepared resource mobilization, and strengthened inspections of process pipelines, equipment, and facilities, to ensure the safe operation of natural gas branch pipelines, production equipment at stations, and LNG low-temperature gasification units in the province. It has upgraded management and control of workplace safety, and guaranteed complete rescue equipment and facilities, and personnel in place.

In the past few days, Changde, Changsha, and Xiangloushao branches have carried out emergency drills respectively. In the emergency drill for natural gas leakage in Changsha, the on-site command team, emergency repair and rescue team, emergency control valve team, and fire alert team performed their respective duties to carry out rescue. In the emergency drill for indoor gas leakage of commercial users in Changde, the operational procedures such as evacuation warning, household disposal, and gas supply restoration were orderly organized, quickly responded, and effectively handled.
