Recently, the Blockchain Special Committees of the China Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics and the China Communications Industry Association and other institutions jointly released a report on the comprehensive blockchain index of Chinese cities in 2021. According to the report, Beijing topped the list in terms of comprehensive blockchain index. Changsha ranked among the top 5 for the first time in this regard.

The report interpreted the data on blockchain development of cities from six aspects, namely, industrial integration, government application, policy environment, innovation and entrepreneurship, security risks and security guarantee. These cities’ blockchain development trends in the current digital economy era, as well as their blockchain technology and industrial development, were analyzed. According to the report, Beijing ranked first in terms of comprehensive blockchain index, followed by Shanghai. Shenzhen and Guangzhou ranked 3rd and 4th respectively. Changsha edged out Hangzhou to the 5th place.
