The Xinghe (or Star River) Observatory, located deep in the mountains of Xiaohe Township, Liuyang City, has been recently completed and put into use. The observatory includes four functional areas, namely, the interactive astronomical exhibition area, the natural science book corner, the astronomical multimedia classroom, and the astronomical observation desk. The staff of the Hunan Astronomical Association organized science popularization and observation activities at the observatory, in an effort to help children “look up at the starlit sky”and explore the universe.
