On January 19, a train carrying Liling ceramics departed at Liling South Railway Station. It marked the launch of the first Hunan-Guangdong-Africa ceramics export train.
The Hunan-Guangdong-Africa Rail-Sea Express is one of the five major international logistics channels planned and constructed by Hunan. It takes Zhuzhou as the main node and departure station, and connects to Africa, Latin America, the Middle East and other parts of the world. It provides convenient and efficient rail-sea transport service for a majority of import and export companies in Hunan and its surrounding areas. Since it began operation in 2021, the rail-sea transport service, with 10 freight trains together, has mainly transported grains, auto parts and other goods.
Liling has more than 650 upstream and downstream enterprises in the ceramic industry, with an annual output value of 71.2 billion yuan. And its products sell well in more than 150 countries and regions around the world. It will take 33 hours from transporting the ceramics at Liling South Railway Station to unloading at the port of departure. The transportation cost is 60% lower than that of bus transport, equaling to that of water transport. Peng Guangze, a person in charge of the project, said that the ceramic products are worth more than 4 million yuan and will be shipped to the United States within a week. The ceramics export train will become a normalized one for Hunan-Guangdong-Africa Rail-Sea Express. Taking Zhuzhou as the center, it will develop more supply of import and export goods.
