A founding ceremony of the Advanced Manufacturing Sci-tech Innovation Alliance of Hunan Province, also the third Yuelu Mountain “Intelligence +” High-end Innovation Forum, was held in Changsha on January 15, 2022.

The Hunan Association for Science and Technology unveiled the nameplate of the alliance. Wang Yaonan, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and the first chairperson of the alliance, presented letters of appointment to the counselor representatives, and singed agreements with some member institutions.

In recent years, Hunan’s institutions of higher education, represented by Hunan University (HNU), National University of Defense Technology (NUDT), and Central South University (CSU), have taken initiative to respond to national demand of talents and innovation. They focus on Hunan’s “Three Hubs and Four New Missions” Strategy, and accordingly made plans and took measures to foster innovative talents. Research teams have actively engaged in integrating industry and education and promoting joint construction and sharing, in a bid to contribute to the construction of a modern new Hunan.

HNU President Duan Xianzhong said that, HNU as a chair institution of the Hunan Association of Automation will better serve the alliance availing itself of the characteristics of its disciplines. It will assist the alliance to gain an upper hand in manufacturing sci-tech competition and future development, and take over the commanding heights of talents and innovation for advanced manufacturing.

Wang noted that, the alliance will concentrate on Hunan’s manufacturing sectors including metallurgy and materials, rail transit, construction machinery, and aerospace. It will make use of the education, research, production, and service advantages, to build a collaborative innovation mechanism based on stable and efficient cooperation between and among governments, associations, enterprises, universities, and research institutions. It will make efforts in industrial application of research outcomes, high-end equipment manufacturing, and advanced industrial clusters, to provide intelligent impetus to constructing a modern new Hunan.
