The Hunan Provincial Industry and Information Technology Work Conference was held on January 10, 2022. It said that the provincial industrial economy registered stable performance with good momentum for growth in 2021. There were more than 2,000 new industrial enterprises above designated size throughout the year, with 4 enterprises worth 100 billion yuan, and 38 ones worth 10 billion yuan in the industrial field.
The “Hub” construction has been in full swing. The 14th Five-Year Development Plan of Hunan Province to Build an Important National Advanced Manufacturing Hub was compiled and issued to build a “3 plus 3 plus 2” modern industrial system. That is, accelerating the construction of 3 world-class industrial clusters of construction machinery, rail transit equipment, small and medium-sized aero-engines and aerospace equipment, 3 national-level industrial clusters of electronic information, new materials, and new energy and energy conservation, and making efforts in 2 aspects of upgrading traditional industries and cultivating future industries. The system of provincial leaders contacting industrial chains and groups has been further implemented, guiding all kinds of forces to concentrate and resources to converge on the hub. It has made access to the upper levels via establishing the ministerial-provincial cooperation platforms, and to the lower levels via enhanced monitoring, research, judgment, and services through the provincial industrial data cloud, and serving small and medium-sized enterprises for 151,000 times through the provincial public service platform. The Industry and Information Technology Department of Hunan Province has taken the lead in carrying out the special action of “easing difficulties and improving efficiency of enterprises”; promoted the construction of “10 major industrial projects” and the key projects of building a manufacturing powerhouse; continued to carry forward the cultivation of large-scale industrial enterprises; and, effectively promoted the steady growth of the industry.
The enterprises have been nurtured, industrial parks and zones developed, supporting facilities strengthened, and industrial vertical chains and horizontal groups advanced. In 2021, there were 8 new national manufacturing individual champions and 162 national “Little Giant” enterprises in Hunan Province; and the national and provincial new industrialization industrial demonstration bases reached 18 and 61 respectively. Hunan now has 4 national industrial clusters, ranking first in central and western China.
Focusing on innovative breakthroughs, the resilience of the industrial and supply chains continued to increase. There is 1 national manufacturing innovation center, 10 provincial manufacturing innovation centers, and 464 provincial enterprise technology centers in Hunan. A group of products that stand for the country’s progress in science and technology have been rolled off the production line, including the world’s largest tonnage crane and the world’s largest wind electric jib tower crane.
The industry has been transformed into digital, green, service-oriented, and brand-oriented. A total of 628 key manufacturing industrial projects which moved towards digital, networked, and intelligent ones have been implemented, and 7 enterprises were selected as national intelligent manufacturing demonstration factories. Last year, 35 chemical companies along the Yangtze River were closed and withdrew from the market , and 3 were relocated. The green manufacturing throughout the whole industrial chain has been promoted. There were 3 national-level green parks, 25 green factories, 12 green design demonstration enterprises, and 42 green design products in Hunan.
