The Chinese Ministry of Water Resources recently announced the list of the 19th batch of national water conservancy scenic spots, according to the Hunan Provincial Department of Water Resources on January 7. Zhuzhou Wanfeng Lake Water Conservancy Scenic Spot made the list, bringing the total number of national water conservancy scenic spots in Hunan to 43.
Wanfeng Lake Water Conservancy Scenic Spot is located at Tianyuan District, Zhuzhou City. It was built on the basis of the Zhuzhou River and Lake Connecting Ecological Water System Landscape Project. It is an urban lake-based water conservancy scenic spot. Its total area covers 1.03 square kilometers, including 0.42 square kilometers of water area. The scenic spot has an excellent ecological environment, boasts abundant resources, is equipped with favorable facilities, and is under a standardized and orderly management. It is an urban park that combines water conservancy construction, ecological restoration, river management, flood control engineering, and garden engineering. It also integrates modern scientific and technological innovation and cultural elements to demonstrate the urban characteristics of Zhuzhou as a power valley. It is a model of urban river- or lake-based water conservancy scenic spot.
Evaluation of national water conservancy scenic spots began in 2000. Up to now, Hunan has built 94 water conservancy scenic spots, including 43 at national-level and 51 at provincial-level, covering rivers, lakes, reservoirs, key irrigation areas, and soil erosion treatment areas. The development pattern of "each county-level place has waterscape, each city-level place has high-quality product" has gradually been formed, which has played an important role in promoting ecological civilization and building beautiful Hunan.
