Governor Mao chaired a symposium afterwards, making arrangements to promote multimodal transport which allows “zero transfer” among high-speed trains, bullet trains and intercity trains. He stressed the need to thoroughly implement President Xi Jinping's important discourse on transport work. Efforts should be sped up to achieve multimodal transport and integrated connectivity among the Changsha Railway Station, the Wuhan-Guangzhou, Shanghai-Kunming, and Changde-Yiyang-Changsha High-speed Railways, and the Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan Intercity Railway. This will greatly increase travel efficiency, and thus facilitate people’s high-quality travel.
Hunan provincial leaders Li Dianxun and Zhang Yingchun; Deng Qunce, secretary general of the Hunan Provincial People’s Government; and, Zheng Jianxin, deputy secretary of the CPC Changsha Municipal Committee, mayor of Changsha, and secretary of the CPC Working Committee of the Hunan Xiangjiang New Area, participated.
At 9:00 a.m., Governor Mao and his delegation set out from the Changsha Station of Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan Intercity Railway. They inspected Muyun Station, Zhaoshan Station, Tianxin East Station and other stations along the railway. Every time he arrived at a station, he, together with experts from the Guangzhou Railway Group, China Railway Siyuan Survey and Design Group and other units, talked in detail about the route direction, construction time, land occupation and other conditions of each connection scheme, and selected the most optimal scheme.
