“It makes me feel at home when walking into the rest station. It’s so nice!” said construction worker Chen Yuhai on January 4. That day was a rainy and misty day. Chen and his colleagues dredged the pipeline near an entrance of the Kaiyuan West Road Subway Station, Changsha County. After finishing their work, they walked into the newly-opened Kaiyuan Courier Station to have a rest. After drinking a cup of hot tea and watching TV for a while, Chen talked about his feelings of such a rest station, “The environment is good, the service is good, and it is even more comfortable than my home!"

The rest station is located next to the Changsha Metro Line 3 Xianglong Subway Station in the south side of Kaiyuan West Road, with a construction area of 116 square meters. Recently it has opened to the public for free. The station is dedicated to citizens and front-line workers, as well as volunteers. Decorated in a modern and simple style, the station is equipped with convenience facilities including a lounge, a reading area, washrooms for men and women, a baby care room, air conditioning, an LCD television, a refrigerator, and a microwave oven. Two staff members are also in place to offer citizens good service.

To further improve urban quality and achieve a higher level of civilized city construction, Changsha County will actively advance the site selection of the rest station project, as well as its three-year construction. It is expected to build or renovate more rest stations.
