The China (Huaihua) – RCEP Activities for Cooperation and Development were inaugurated in Huaihua on January 5, 2022. At the first RCEP Openness and Cooperation Forum in Huaihua, the Huaihua Municipal People’s Government reached an MoU of Strategic Partnership with the China-ASEAN Business Council (CABC). As agreed, the China-ASEAN Logistics Industrial Cooperation and Matchmaking Base will be settled in Huaihua.

The Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) came into effect on January 1, 2022. According to the strategic cooperation agreement, CABC will settle the China-ASEAN Logistics Industrial Cooperation and Matchmaking Base in Huaihua, to increase the international reputation of the city, and facilitate logistics industrial cooperation between China and ASEAN countries under the framework of RCEP. Huaihua’s regional superiorities in geological location, transportation, and logistics industrial foundation will be leveraged to promote its cooperation with the ASEAN logistics industry and enterprises. Huaihua will draw more attention from RCEP participants and strive to grow into a hub of logistics cooperation with ASEAN.

Huaihua was chosen for it is Hunan’s only key city on the east line of the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor, said CABC Executive President Xu Ningning. The CPC Huaihua Municipal Committee and the Huaihua Municipal People’s Government rolled out the layout in advance. The Huaihua International Land Port and an International (ASEAN) Logistics Industrial Park are constructed, to integrate into the RCEP platform, and transfer Huaihua’s geological location and resources advantages into development superiority. CABC is good at international resource integration and international promotion. Based on the MoU, the two sides will tap into their strengths, and build a long-term strategic cooperation partnership to maintain and deepen the content of cooperation.

A ceremony was also held that afternoon for the signing of a strategic cooperation framework agreement between the Huaihua Municipal People’s Government and the Hunan Lumeng International Trade Co., Ltd. on the comprehensive development of the ASEAN Industrial Park in Hunan (Huaihua); an MoU of Cooperation between the Cambodia Logistics Association and the Huaihua Economic Development Zone; and, a strategic cooperation agreement of ASEAN International Market Development.
