During the 24 hours of January 5, there were no new asymptomatic COVID-19 cases reported in Hunan. There were no new asymptomatic cases re-categorized as confirmed ones. There was one new case out of quarantine (imported case). There were 10 people under medical observation (imported cases).

Between 0:00 on July 20, 2021 and 24:00 on January 5, 2022, a total of 155 confirmed COVID-19 cases (including 41 imported cases) had been reported in Hunan. There were 24 patients hospitalized (imported cases), and no severe cases. One hundred and thirty-one patients were discharged from hospitals (including 17 imported cases). No people had died.
