A press conference for the Yangtianhu special train on the Chenzhou-Guangzhou-Shenzhen Express Line was held in Chenzhou on December 26, 2021. Jointly operated by Chenzhou City and the China Railway Guangzhou Group, this special train will officially open to traffic on January 1, 2022.

Chenzhou at the south end of Hunan Province is a “bridgehead” from Hunan to the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. It has the China (Hunan) Pilot Free Trade Zone Chenzhou Area, the National Sustainable Development Agenda Innovation Demonstration Zone, an integrated pilot zone for cross-border e-commerce, and Demonstration Zone for Hunan-Jiangxi Border Area Regional Cooperation.

“The special train is a milestone of Chenzhou in integrating in Greater Bay Area and boosting high-quality development,” said Liang Chenggu, standing committee member of the CPC Chenzhou Municipal Committee, and also Chenzhou mayor. The express line directly connects Hunan and Guangdong provinces, and explores a distinctive path to win-win cooperation in opening up and cooperation. It will help Chenzhou undertake industrial transfers, and accelerate its service industry to integrate into the Greater Bay Area.

One pair of trains with 16 carriages for each will be operated every day.

Along the Chenzhou-Shenzhen section of the line, there are abundant tourist attractions and red or revolutionary tourism resources which are bustled with tourists. Promotion videos of Chenzhou will be played on the trains frequently and multi-dimensionally. Cultural and tourism features of one or two county-level regions will be showcased on each carriage. A “Chenzhou Element” red or revolutionary tourism products and travel routes will be promoted to the passengers.
