Deputy Secretary Zhu Meets with Consul General of the Lao PDR to Changsha

Zhu Guoxian, deputy secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee, met in Changsha with Boun Inthabandith, consul general of the Lao PDR to Changsha, on the afternoon of December 21, 2021.

Deputy Secretary Zhu thanked Mr. Boun Inthabandith for his contributions to promoting communication and cooperation between Hunan and Laos in various fields. He noted that China and Laos are friendly socialist neighbors linked by mountains and rivers. Hunan and Laos have maintained long-term friendship and close collaboration, especially since the setup of the Consulate General of Laos in Changsha in 2017, which is a milestone in deepening exchanges between the two sides. He continued, “Hunan is now thoroughly implementing the spirits of the Sixth Plenary Session of the 19th CPC Central Committee and the 12th CPC Hunan Provincial Congress; fulfilling the strategic positioning, missions, and tasks of the Three Highlands and Four New Missions; and, building a new modern socialist Hunan in an all-round way.” Hunan will further promote the establishment of a new open economic system, and strive to build a highland of reform and opening up in the inland areas of China. I hoped that Mr. Consul General will continue to care and support Hunan, and promote bilateral exchanges and cooperation to a deeper and higher level, he added.

Consul General Boun Inthabandith said that since the opening of the Lao Consulate General in Changsha, it has achieved good results in promoting cooperation between Laos and Hunan in sister-city ties, economy and trade, education, tourism, and epidemic prevention and control. He expected to continue to promote friendly cooperation with Hunan and contribute to the good neighbors, friends, comrades, and partnership ties between Laos and China.
