On the evening of December 20, the 7th Hunan Arts Festival was unveiled at the Hunan Grand Theater in Changsha. Yang Haodong, member of the Standing Committee and director of the Publicity Department of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee, announced its opening. He Baoxiang, vice governor of Hunan Province, delivered a speech. He Anjie, vice chairman of the CPPCC Hunan Provincial Committee, attended.
The festival was sponsored by the Publicity Department of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and the Hunan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism. It was an important measure of Hunan Province to implement the spirit of the important speech delivered by President Xi Jinping at the opening ceremony of the 11th National Congress of the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles and the 10th National Congress of the Chinese Writers Association. Themed “Arts Festival for the People”, it will focus on exhibiting outstanding literary and artistic works with contemporary style and Hunan features in the past three years.
This year it highlighted the mainstream theme, literature and art events benefiting the mass, scientific norms, and innovation and effectiveness, including five main activities of the opening ceremony, professional stage art activities, mass cultural activities, the provincial art calligraphy and photography exhibition, the closing ceremony, and awards gala. The events will last until January 6, 2022. Next, 28 newly-created large-scale stage plays will be performed in Changsha, Zhuzhou, Yiyang, and other cities. The opening ceremony, repertoire performance, closing ceremony, and awards ceremony of the festival will all be broadcast live on the Yitong Cultural Live Broadcasting Platform.
