The 11th Congress of the Hunan Association for Science and Technology was held in Changsha on December 18, 2021. Zhang Qingwei, secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee, attended and addressed the conference.
Zhang stressed that all sci-tech associations and personnel in Hunan should thoroughly study and follow the spirits of the Sixth Plenary Session of the 19th CPC Central Committee and President Xi Jinping's important discourses on scientific and technological innovation, to forge ahead while keeping our feet on the ground and make tireless efforts to accelerate constructing Hunan into a sci-tech innovation hub with core competitiveness, and strive to make new accomplishments in the era and on the new journey.
Zhang Yuzhuo, secretary of the Party Leadership Group of the China Association for Science and Technology, delivered a video speech. Mao Weiming, deputy secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and Hunan governor, and Li Weiwei, chairwoman of the CPPCC Hunan Provincial Committee, were present. Zhu Guoxian, deputy secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee, chaired the conference.
Provincial leaders Li Dianxun, Wang Cheng, Xie Weijiang, Yang Haodong, Xie Jianhui, and Chen Fei attended the conference. Scientists and experts present included: Tian Hongqi, president of Central South University; Zhang Yaoxue, Yu Qifeng, Yin Yulong, Luo An, Chen Xiaohong, Wang Yaonan, Liu Shaojun, Chai Liyuan, Wu Yiqiang, and Bai Lianyang, representatives of the academicians of the China Academy of Sciences and the China Academy of Engineering; and, Prof. Hou Zhenting and academician Huang Boyun, also honorary chairpersons of the Hunan Association of Science and Technology.
The 2nd Hunan Exemplary Sci-tech Workers, winners of the 11th Hunan Youth Science and Technology Award, and the 2021 Hunan Outstanding Sci-tech Workers are honored at the congress.
