On December 15, the investment promotion conference of Xiangyin region of the Hunan Xiangjiang New Area and Hunan Advanced Equipment Manufacturing (New Energy) Characteristic Industrial Park was held in Changsha. There were 36 major industrial construction projects signed on-site, with a total investment of nearly 40 billion yuan.

Xiangyin County is located in the center of three cities and five counties in Changsha, Yueyang, and Yiyang, with a superior geographical location. As the “first stop” to implement Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan's (CZT) integration into the Yangtze River Economic Belt, the county keeps pace with multiple national strategies such as the Yangtze River Economic Belt, the high-quality development of central China, and the CZT City Cluster. In October 2020, Xiangyin County of Yueyang City became a “new member” of the Hunan Xiangjiang New Area, the first state-level new area in central China.

In terms of development positioning, the Xiangyin region will focus on accumulation of advanced equipment manufacturing, construction of new port area linking rivers and seas, regional cooperation in southern Yueyang, and the positive results of investment promotion and innovative development in science and education of northern Changsha, to build itself into a Changsha-Yueyang collaboration pioneer zone, an advanced manufacturing concentration zone, an open economy pilot zone, and an independent innovation demonstration zone.
