An investment promotion conference of Turpan City, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region was held in Changsha on December 9, 2021. Thirty-three investment attraction projects worth 15.3 billion yuan were signed on site. Three purchase and sales contracts for raisins, dates and other agricultural and sideline products were also signed, with a contract value totaling 386 million yuan.

The investment attraction projects involve such fields as cultural tourism, new energy, equipment manufacturing, intensive processing of agricultural and sideline products, and cold chain logistics.
During the promotion conference, Hunan also signed an agreement with Turpan to offer “pairing-up assistance” to Turpan’s rural revitalization work.
Hunan started providing “pairing-up support” for Turpan in 1998. Since then, Hunan province has sent nine groups of more than 1,100 cadres to assist Xinjiang, and carried out 290 aid projects with a total investment of 3.47 billion yuan. It has helped Turpan build a large number of projects that benefit the people and facilitate development, with good results achieved. In particular, the ninth Hunan team aiding Xinjiang has achieved positive results in creating the “red pomegranate” brand to support Xinjiang’s development, facilitating group-based assistance in medical education, innovating the “pairing-up and joint construction of characteristic villages”, and promoting ethnic unity.
