The Hunan Provincial People’s Government Information Office held a press conference on December 9. It announced that, the 2021 Hunan (Changsha) International Intelligent Transportation Exposition will be held at the Changsha International Convention and Exhibition Center on December 17 and 18.

This is the third session of the expo. It is an important practice and platform of Hunan to implement new development philosophy; seize the opportunity as a pilot for building China into a country with strong transport strength; carry out the Three Highlands and Four New Missions Strategy; fulfill five major tasks; and, boost high-quality development of intelligent transportation.

Themed “science and technology empowers transportation, intelligent technology leads the future”, the expo will focus on promoting application of new intelligent transportation products and materials, and establish an international exchange and cooperation platform for exhibition, business negotiation, technology release, and interactive experience. More than 200 enterprises will participate, including the China Railway Construction Corporation Limited, China Railway Signal and Communication Corporation Limited, China Unicom, Zhuzhou CRRC Times Electric Co., Ltd., and Hunan Airport Corporation.

There will be a variety of activities:
- one major activity – opening ceremony, also a keynote forum;
- one exhibition covering 40,000-sqm area, and composed of eight main parts for intelligent road, urban intelligent transportation, intelligent port, intelligent track, intelligent aviation service, intelligent hubs, intelligent transportation integration technology, and transportation safety; and,
- other activities, such as an intelligent transportation competition, new product release press conferences, an enterprise matching-making meeting, and a transportation-themed painting competition.

Intelligent rail transit equipment and intelligent connected vehicles are two competitive industries of Hunan Province. This expo will help boost in-depth application of new technologies, such as big data, AI, cloud computing, and blockchain, in rail transit, automobile, aerospace, construction machinery, and related industrial sectors. It will also accelerate transformation and upgrades of Hunan's equipment manufacturing into a high-end intelligent pattern, and provide new drivers to building Hunan into a national hub of advanced manufacturing industry.
