The 2021 China International Rail Transit and Equipment Manufacturing Industry Exposition (China InteRail Expo) opened in Zhuzhou on December 8. Zheng Jianbang, vice chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee, addressed the expo via video.
Li Dianxun, a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and executive vice governor of Hunan, was present and announced opening of the expo.
Zhang Shenfeng, vice chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), and He Baoxiang, vice governor of Hunan Province, attended and addressed the expo. Ali Al Dhaheri, UAE ambassador to China, delivered a video speech.
Some officials of foreign embassies in China, including U Myo Thant Pe, Myanmar's ambassador to China, and Arthayudh Srisamoot, Ambassador of Thailand to China, as well as academicians Liu Youmei and Ding Rongjun, were present.
Vice Chairman Zheng noted that, over the past decades, China’s high-speed railway has undergone rapid development starting from scratch. Chinese high-speed railway technology has caught up and even overtaken international level, and at the forefront in the world today. The titles of “made in China”, “Chinese standards”, and “China speed” are recognized worldwide. China has mastered the key and core technologies of high-speed railway manufacturing. The “Fuxing” high-speed trains with China’s independent intellectual property have ran for more than 38,000 km, retaining first place in the world.
Zheng stated that, the China InteRail Expo will be held in Hunan permanently, which proved Hunan’s status in China’s industrial development. Since the 13th Five-year Plan, Hunan has constructed a rail transit and equipment manufacturing industrial cluster with a total output hitting 100 billion yuan, which features high-level independent innovation ability, core competitiveness, and great influence. He expected Hunan to better leverage the expo to enhance exchange and cooperation, pool drives of growth, boost high-quality development of rail transit and equipment manufacturing industry, and contribute to building China into a country with great transport strength.
Vice Chairman Zhang welcomed the guests and representatives present, on behalf of CCPIT. He said that, CCPIT is willing to work together with Hunan and other partners, to organize a professional exposition with international influence, leading role, and good reputation. He expected to enhance integration, opening up, collaboration, and development in rail transit and equipment manufacturing industry, and make contributions to forming a new pattern of all-sectoral opening-up.
Vice Governor He expressed hopes as the host to join hands with CCPIT and all parties concerning for and supporting the expo, to establish a pragmatic platform of technology innovation, talent attraction, industrial upgrading, and financial support, and contribute to fulfilling the goal of building China into a transport and manufacturing powerhouse.
The expo is hosted by CCPIT and the Hunan Provincial People’s Government. The theme is “Smart Rail Connecting the Future". During the 4-day expo, more than 10 events will be held, including the World Rail Transit Xiangjiang Forum; Hunan Rail Transit Industry and Project Promotion Meeting; China-USA Rail Transit International Cooperation Roundtable Forum; and, China InterRail Expo Talent Summit.
More than 8,000 Chinese and foreign enterprises participate online or offline, presenting their new products, technologies, and achievements. The participators also include delegations of commercial and trade associations from 16 foreign countries, such as U.S.A and Germany; 29 worldly famous enterprises, such as 3M, Caterpillar, and Westinghouse; and, 199 Chinese enterprises from 19 provincial-level regions including Beijing and Sichuan. The United Arab Emirates as a guest country of honor, and Shanxi Province as a province of honor operate their pavilions separately.
