On November 23, elementary school students practiced playing the Miao drums in Wunuo Hall, Qianzhou Ancient Town, Jishou City. Recently, the ancient town has opened a research base for intangible cultural heritage study such as Miao drums, Miao paintings, lanterns, and Qianzhou Spring Festival gala in the Xiangxi Intangible Cultural Heritage Park. This is aimed at providing services for students’ study tours, promote and inherit the excellent traditional culture of the nationalities, enrich students’ after-school cultural life, and assist the implementation of the “double reduction” policy which aims to reduce students' excessive homework and off-campus tutoring during their nine-year compulsory education.
