Changsha's Foreign Trade Value up 20.9% in First 10 Months

From January to October this year, Changsha's import and export value reached 219.12 billion yuan, up 20.9% from the same period last year, the Xingsha Customs said on November 15.

Data shows that in the first 10 months of this year, Changsha's imports and exports via general trade rose 41.5% year on year to 177.81 billion yuan, accounting for more than 80% of the city's total import and export value. ASEAN was Changsha’s most important trading partner, with trade volume reaching 39.43 billion yuan, up 1.4% year on year. Changsha’s imports and exports to Africa totaled 11 billion yuan, up 81.1% year on year. During the same period, its foreign trade with the 14 other RCEP members amounted to 72.43 billion yuan, up 14.7% year on year; and that with Belt and Road countries totaled 70.03 billion yuan, up 9.7% year on year.

During the January-October period, Changsha’s private enterprises played a significant role in boosting the city’s foreign trade. The total import and export volume of these enterprises reached 173.41 billion yuan, up 26% year-on-year, accounting for 79.1% of the city's total import and export value. Exports of mechanical and electrical products and cultural products increased significantly, up 23.8% and 49.8% year-on-year respectively.
