By November 10, there had been no new COVID-19 local cases reported in Hunan for 18 consecutive days.
Since this wave of epidemic began on October 18, Hunan has taken prompt, strict, pragmatic, and meticulous efforts, and scored achievements in the battle against the epidemic. The whole province will continue to follow the deployments of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council, and carry out measures to prevent the coronavirus from re-entering the country to cause a new epidemic.
On October 18, a new confirmed case was reported in Changsha County. On October 20, 22, and 23, there were four new cases found among the quarantined group in Changsha’s Yuhua District, Zhuzhou’s Youxian County, and Changsha’s Changsha County respectively. These five cases were all resulted from the Delta variant, and epidemiologically linked with each other.
Since this wave of epidemic, Hunan province has firmly implemented President Xi Jinping’s instructions on epidemic prevention and control, and followed the deployments of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council. Prompt, strict, pragmatic, and meticulous efforts have been made to fight against the virus, including prompt epidemiological investigations; strict travel restrictions; targeted, tiered, and region-specific restriction and control; expansion of nucleic acid testing; and, all-out medical treatment. Early detection, quarantine, and treatment resulted in good effect of epidemic control. This wave of infections had been controlled in small range, neither community transmissions nor more variations of infections. As of now, the epidemic has been under control. All contacts, secondary contacts, and people with high exposure risks had been out of quarantine or restriction. By November 10, there had been no new COVID-19 local cases reported in Hunan for 18 consecutive days.
The provincial epidemic prevention and control authority reminds that, all people should remain vigilant against the epidemic, and make good self-protection, such as wearing masks, keeping social distance, avoiding gathering, washing hands frequently, keeping ventilated, reducing the times of dining together, and using serving chopsticks. People are asked to follow the anti-epidemic requirements, including collaborating with temperature taking and health code and travel record checking, and keeping one-meter distance at such public venues as medical institutions, airports, stations, markets, hotels, cinemas, and scenic areas; reducing visits and gathering; and, limiting number of family gathering participators.
