The Yueyang Municipal Government Supervision Office and the Yueyang Statistics Bureau recently inspected and coordinated the work of this year’s 30 provincial and municipal-level tasks concerning people’s livelihood improvement. The progress of these tasks was publicized.

Among the 30 tasks this year, 19 are at provincial level, while 11 at municipal level, concerning education, medical treatment, housing, and social insurance. By October, most of these tasks had progressed as scheduled, and some had been completed ahead of schedule.

Among the 28 detailed items of 19 provincial-level tasks, 18 had been completed, or overfulfilled, ahead of schedule. They included: 59,480 government-subsidized vocational trainings had been provided, fulfilling 198.3% of the goal of 30,000; 29,830 trainings for rural migrant workers had been organized, reaching 284.1% of the goal of 10,500; three Lotus Schools had been built and put into use; the standards of eligibility for urban subsistence allowances were not less than 580 yuan/month, reaching the national threshold; the houses of 971 impoverished households with disabled members have been upgraded for better accessibility, 102.2% of the goal of 950; 2,870 legal aid cases had been handled, 110.4% of the goal of 2,600; and, free cervical and breast cancer screening has been provided for 101,280 appropriately aged rural women and the appropriately aged urban women entitled to subsistence allowances, accounting for 102.3% of the goal of 99,000.

Among the 15 items of 11 municipal-level tasks, three had been completed ahead of schedule, while 12 are processing smoothly. The three completed tasks are: 267 elevators had been installed in old urban residential communities, overfulfilling by 167% over the goal of 100 ones; 1.02 million sqm of green land area had been added in urban areas, 102% of the goal of 1 million sqm; and, medical assistance and basic medical insurance had been provided for 303,000 hospitalization and clinic services, 114% of the goal of 26,000.
