On October 27, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the National Development and Reform Commission, and the Ministry of Finance announced the second batch of national cultural and tourism consumption pilot cities. Fifty-five cities were included in the list, including Xiangtan, Changde, and Zhangjiajie in Hunan Province. 

The pilot work aims to support cities’ reform, innovation, and featured development in the light of local conditions, gain experience that boost cultural and tourism consumption, explore long-term mechanisms to unleash cultural and tourism consumption potential, foster and expand new forms and models of cultural and tourism consumption, promote high-quality development of cultural and tourism consumption, and help create a robust domestic market.
