Part of Scenic Areas Closed, Cultural Festivals Postponed

On October 26, some cultural tourism scenic areas and indoor public places in Hunan Province announced strict anti-epidemic measures and temporary closure due to new COVID-19 cases reported in the province recently.

At present, all tourist attractions, scenic spots, playgrounds, indoor entertainment venues, movie theaters and other places where people gather in large numbers in Zhuzhou’s Youxian County have been temporarily closed. Changsha Yangfan Night Market was closed starting from October 21.

Changsha Ecological Zoo implements staggered visiting times. Liuyang Dawei Mountain is only open to tourists from low-risk areas, and requires real-name registration. Tianhan Cultural Park, Memorial Hall at the Huangxing’s Former Residence, Memorial Hall at the Xu Teli’s Former Residence, and other tourist attractions in Changsha County require reservation one day in advance, with a daily visitor limit of 500.

Hunan Museum, Hunan Library, and Changsha Museum limit the number of daily visitors to 5,000, 3,000, and 2,000, respectively.

Hunan Museum suspends the following services for the time being, including free regular guide services, on-site educational activities, and Xiangbo forums. VR digital experience hall and multimedia equipment in the exhibition hall are temporarily closed. Study room opening hours in Hunan Library are adjusted to 8:30-18:00. Changsha Museum only accepts individual visits.

Changsha County Cultural and Sports Service Center and Changsha County Cultural Center have been temporarily closed.

Some festival activities have also been postponed, including the 7th Hunan Animation Month, the 5th Hunan Sports Tourism Festival, and the 5th China (Fenghuang) Folklore Photo Biennale.
