The No.1 generator set of the Yongzhou Power Plant was officially put into operation at 11:18 am on October 27, after completing a 168-hour full-load trail operation. It is Hunan’s first generator set with a capacity of 1 million kilowatts. The Yongzhou Power Plant was constructed by the Hunan Power Construction Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of the China Energy Engineering Corporation Limited (CEEC). It is located in Dong’an County, Yongzhou. Two coal generator sets each with a capacity of one million kilowatts would be constructed for the first phase, with a total investment of 7.48 billion yuan.
