Xie Jianhui, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and executive vice governor of Hunan Province, met in Changsha with Caroline Wilson, British ambassador to China, and her entourage on October 21, 2021.
Executive Vice Governor Xie welcomed the guests, briefed them on relevant situation in detail, and communicated with the representatives of the accompanying enterprises one by one. She noted that the exchanges between Hunan Province and the United Kingdom have become increasingly frequent. Both sides share a solid foundation for cooperation, and boast broad prospects. Hunan is now implementing the spirit of President Xi Jinping’s important speech made when inspecting Hunan Province, and the Three Highlands and Four New Missions Strategy. She expected the two sides, driven by the implementation of a series of signed agreements, to continue to deepen collaboration in economic and trade, green finance, vocational education, and cultural tourism; strengthen the establishment of sister-city ties; and, strive to build the province-shire partnership as a model of Sino-British local cooperation.
Ambassador Wilson thanked Hunan government for its active efforts for cooperation between the two sides. She hoped to achieve more fruitful cooperation results in humanities, education, and economy and trade sectors.
