The Foreign Talent Research Center of the Ministry of Science and Technology recently released the results of the 2020 “Charming China -- The Most Attractive Chinese Cities in the Eyes of Foreign Talents” survey. Changsha ranked 17th on the list of “Most Promising Cities” in this survey, up one place from 2019.
The lineup of foreign expert judges participating in this survey was unprecedented, including 14 Nobel Prize winners, 1 Turing Award winner, 16 academicians, and 47 winners of the Friendship Award set up by the Chinese government.
The survey, with the theme of "City’s Opening-up and Talent Introduction", evaluated the overall performance of each city in attracting foreign talents, serving foreign talents and giving full play to the role of foreign talents based on 54 indicators and five dimensions, namely, “convenience to work”, “convenience to life”, “social environment”, “mutual evaluation of cities” and “urban extroversion level”.
