The 2021 National Mass Entrepreneurship and Innovation Promotion Week Hunan event was launched in Changsha on October 19. 

 
Mao Weiming, deputy secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and Hunan governor, was present.

Xie Jianhui, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and executive vice governor, announced the launching of the event and inspected the venue. Zou Xuexiao and Chai Liyuan, both academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, attended. Deng Qunce, secretary general of the Hunan Provincial People’s Government, presided over the launching ceremony.

Themed "high-quality innovation, high-level entrepreneurship and employment," the annual event will see various activities kick off across the country, both online and offline, to display achievements in mass entrepreneurship and innovation,  in line with the deployment of the State Council.

A variety of activities will be held at the sub venue of Hunan event. 

 
A themed exhibition opened at the Hunan Science and Technology Museum on that day. Model projects and personnel deeds across the province were presented in its six exhibition areas – comprehensive zone; Xiangjiang New Area; Xiangtan Hi-tech Zone; Zhuzhou Hi-tech Zone; Hengyang Hi-tech Zone; Chenglingji New Port Zone. The exhibition displays Hunan’s fruitful achievements in thoroughly implementing the innovation-driven development strategy, and achieving a decisive victory in building a moderately prosperous society in all respects.

During the week, a series of activities will be held, including forum of academicians, roadshow presentation, and entrepreneurship trainings. These will provide an exchange and collaboration platform for entrepreneurs and innovators, and promote mass entrepreneurship and innovation on a broader, deeper and higher level, to celebrate the Party's centenary with outstanding achievements.

In the light of the Three Highlands and Four New Missions Strategy, Hunan in recent years has given increasing priority to, and provided stronger supports for promoting mass entrepreneurship and innovation. New progresses have been made in creating innovation ecosystem, building platforms, promoting innovation, and boosting innovation-driven development. In the first three quarters, 652,300 market entities were added in Hunan, increasing by 13.69%. The added value of hi-tech manufacturing grew by 19.5% year on year. There are 114 national and provincial-level demonstration bases for mass entrepreneurship and innovation. Mass entrepreneurship and innovation has given strong support for stabilizing economy and employment.
