The 8th Overseas Returnees Forum concluded in Changsha on October 18th. Hu Xusheng, vice chairman of the CPPCC Hunan Provincial Committee and chairman of the Zhigong Party Hunan Provincial Committee, attended the closing ceremony.

The forum focused on the overall development of Hunan, offered suggestions and advice for the province’s innovation-driven opening-up and development strategy, and helped overseas returnees innovate and start businesses. A variety of special activities were held during the three-day forum, including a Changsha High-tech Zone special event attracting high-level European talents, an intelligent manufacturing biomedical innovation forum, talks with overseas returnees, a job fair for overseas talents, a final contest for the Hunan Overseas Student Start-up Support Program, and an innovation and entrepreneurship exhibition.

An awarding ceremony and a project signing ceremony were held during the forum closing ceremony. Several overseas talents and students had signed agreements with Hunan employers. Twenty-four people also signed individual letters of intent.

As a local non-Communist political party organization, the Zhigong Party Hunan Provincial Committee has cooperated with relevant departments to explore innovative ways to help outstanding overseas returnees start businesses and find jobs in Hunan. As a result, the Overseas Returnees Forum has been held for eight sessions since 2014. It has now become a platform to help returnees make suggestions and advice for Hunan's Three Highlands and Four New Missions Strategy, build consensus, innovate and start businesses, and communicate with each other.
