He stressed that we must implement the spirits of President Xi Jinping’s important speeches made at a ceremony marking the centenary of the CPC held on July 1 and during his inspection tour in Hunan. He added that we must remain determined, impose stress on ourselves, and adopt precise measures to achieve the goal of the fourth quarter and secure a decisive victory in the year of 2021. He continued that we must make all-round efforts to complete the economic and social goals set for this year.

After listening to the report on the work in the first three quarters, Mao Weiming said that since this year, the whole province has thoroughly implemented the spirit of President Xi Jinping’s important speeches made during his inspection tour in Hunan, seized the major opportunities for high-quality development in central China in the new era, and vigorously implemented the Three Highlands and Four New Missions Strategy. Mao added that we must adhere to the guideline of “stability, progress, high level, and innovation” and strive to overcome instability, uncertainty and unevenness in economic operation. The province's economy has been back to growth and achieved stable growth, and has made progress while maintaining stability. Steady progress has been made in economic indicators such as regional GDP, industrial enterprises above designated size, investment, consumption, imports and exports. Transformation and upgrading have been accelerated markedly, quality and efficiency increased, people’s livelihood improved, and governmental executive ability enhanced. It is expected that development goals and tasks set for the year will be fully completed.
