The theme of the expo is "Ode to the Centenary of the Communist Party of China, Building a Beautiful Hunan". The expo features indoor and outdoor exhibition areas, and a nursery base exhibition area. It has an exhibition area of about 70,000 square meters. It aims to showcase new varieties, new technologies and new achievements of the flower and tree industry in Hunan.
