Governor Mao Leads Hunan Party and Government Delegation to Visit Turpan, Xinjiang

The Hunan Province paired assistance to Turpan City work symposium and a donation and signing ceremony were held on the morning of October 11, 2021.



On October 10, Mao Weiming, deputy secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and governor of Hunan Province, accompanied by Erkin Tuniyaz, deputy secretary of the CPC Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and acting chairman of the regional government, came to the residence of Hunan cadres who are assisting Xinjiang, to learn about their work and life.



On October 10, Mao Weiming, Erkin Tuniyaz, and other delegates visited Qiaoketamu Village, Pizhan Town, Shanshan County, and had a cordial exchange with the villagers.

Mao Weiming, deputy secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and governor of Hunan Province, led a Party and government delegation to visit Turpan, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and the 221 Regiment of the 12th Division of the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps between October 9 and 11, 2021. They learned about the in-depth implementation of the CPC’s strategy for governance in Xinjiang in the new era, and made inspections for better promoting Hunan's pair assistance work to Turpan. Erkin Tuniyaz, deputy secretary of the CPC Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and acting chairman of the regional government, attended.

According to the arrangements made by the central government, Hunan Province has been supporting Turpan City since 1998 and the 221 Regiment of the 12th Division of Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps since 2014. Since the beginning of the “13th Five-Year Plan” period, Hunan has invested a total of 1.733 billion yuan in aid to Xinjiang, and completed and put into use 116 projects. This has greatly improved Turpan's infrastructure and the people's production and living conditions.

Governor Mao remarked that what impressed him the most was the following words: great changes, deep emotions, and eager expectations of Turpan City to Hunan Province.He believed that Hunan and Turpan share profound friendship, and will create a new chapter of pair assistance together. He emphasized that it was necessary to: 
-fully and accurately implement the Party's strategy for governing Xinjiang in the new era, and focus on promoting social stability and long-term stability in Xinjiang’s fundamental and long-term issues; 
-take pair assistance to Xinjiang as a program that promotes development, unites nationalities and the peoples; and, 
-pay more attention to highlighting planning and guidance, maintaining unity and stability, improving comprehensive benefits, and doing good things about people's livelihood.
