The 2021 Hunan Autumn Cultural Tourism Festival and First Hunan-Hubei-Jiangxi Hakka Cultural Tourism Festival will be held at Zhangfang Town, Liuyang City on October 15.

The festival is hosted by the Hunan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism and the Changsha Municipal People’s Government. Themed “Splendid Hunan, Picturesque Liuyang”, the festival will highlight Liuyang’s beautiful scenery, history and culture, Hakka folklore, featured industries, and profound red or revolutionary culture of Hunan, Hubei, and Jiangxi provinces. The opening ceremony will be held at the main venue. Two sub-venue activities include Hakka gourmet food and intangible cultural heritage (ICH) performances as well as ICH study tours and farming experience.

At the opening ceremony, Changsha City will release Hunan-Hubei-Jiangxi travel routes for 2021. Representatives of 29 counties (county-level cities and districts) in Hunan, Hubei and Jiangxi will jointly release the "Liuyang Declaration on Regional Cooperation of Cultural Tourism Industry in Hunan, Hubei, and Jiangxi". Tourism industry experts will discuss the "Liuyang Model for Rural Revitalization" with representatives of Xixi Panshi Grand Canyon Scenic Area. A signing ceremony on tourism policies to benefit the people and promote rural revitalization will be held.

Hunan Province has held spring, summer, autumn and winter rural tourism festivals annually since 2016, to play a leading role in the development of rural tourism. Liuyang City, which is rich in tourism resource, is one of the main places to facilitate the building of rural revitalization demonstration zone in the border area of Hunan and Jiangxi. Visitors can visit the Hunan-Hubei-Jiangxi Cultural Tourism Fair at Zhangfang Town, to experience intangible cultural heritage items such as grass linen weaving, ancient papermaking, oil-paper umbrella making, woodblock movable type printing, and Liuyang paper-cutting.
