The conference was hosted by the Ministry of Commerce and the Hunan Provincial People’s Government. Online exhibitions, online supply-demand matching system, and online meeting platform were provided to serve more clients. A number of Hunan enterprises, such as Valin Steel, Zhuzhou Smelter Group, and Lengshuijiang Steel Co., Ltd., reached cooperation agreements with African companies.
Vice Governor He pointed out that, Africa has a great prospect in development, and China-Africa cooperation has a promising future. This conference aimed to make use of the platform of the China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo to help match suppliers with buyers precisely. Hunan Province will take this opportunity to explore new pattern and new mechanism to make China-Africa cooperation more fruitful.
Digital transformation of economy accelerates due to the pandemic. Enterprises’ exploration in international market has sped up via the combination of online and offline channels. Since August 26, Hunan has held three rounds of warm-up events. Based on several cross-border trade promotion platforms, representatives of 452 Chinese and African enterprises have conducted more than 800 negotiations, and reached agreements of intent for imports and exports of more than 100 million USD.
