The 2021 China Beautiful Countryside Leisure Tourism Festival was held in Liuyang City on September 28. Eight red or revolutionary travel routes along the border areas of Hunan and Jiangxi provinces were promoted to meet tourists’ travel needs during the upcoming National Day holiday.

The main venue of the festival was in Donghu Park. A promotional video was played to present national high-quality scenic spots on leisure agriculture and rural tourism. The Department of Rural Industries of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs promoted tourism resources of Liuyang, Tonggu, Wanzang, and Shangli which were located in border areas of Hunan and Jiangxi. 

Participants visited Meitianhu Village in Gugang Town, Yugong Farmhouse, and Zhulian Village in Guandu Town, to experience the charm of Liuyang’s leisure agriculture.

So far, Hunan Province has more than 4,600 farmhouses above designated size and more than 300 leisure agriculture-related villages. More than 120 travel routes have been promoted, and 17,000 business entities have been cultivated. In 2020, the farmhouses received more than 199 million tourist trips, generating business income of nearly 50 billion yuan.
