2021 Hunan Culture and Tourism Industry Expo Yields Fruitful Results

The 2021 Hunan Culture and Tourism Industry Expo closed in Changsha on September 26. The three-day expo has yielded fruitful results. During the expo, 478 exhibitors attracted nearly 5,000 professional visitors to negotiate.

Online and offline cultural tourism consumption was boosted, involving RVs and tourism equipment, tourism routes, cultural tourism products and cultural and creative products, rural tourism poverty alleviation products. This attracted attention of more than 10 million people.

The expo covers an exhibition area of nearly 40,000 square meters. There were 478 exhibitors in 12 theme exhibit areas. A number of tourism service providers and suppliers from Hunan, Hubei and Jiangxi gathered, including cultural and tourism institutions, high-quality tourist destinations, scenic spots, travel agencies, and cultural creative sci-tech companies.

The expo attracted tourism organizations from Jiangxi, Hebei, Chongqing, and Jiangsu to negotiate for cooperation amid strict anti-COVID-19 measures. Nearly 5,000 professional visitors and guests participated. More than 15 events were held during the expo.

Hunan Province promoted 208 cultural and tourism investment projects, with financing needs of 587 billion yuan.

Rich online and offline cultural tourism experience projects

The expo showcased the results of the integrated development of cultural and tourism industries from multiple perspectives.

A total of 20 cultural tourism towns attended the expo for the first time, presenting colorful intangible cultural heritage items such as Miao “Monkey drum” performance, red or revolutionary-themed embroidery works, Tujia brocade, Xinhua folk songs, and Meishan palm fiber weaving.

New forms of tourism products such as bungee jumping, via ferrata, and immersive tourism performances have attracted many travel agents to negotiate for cooperation. Tourism equipment companies jointly exhibited and launched a large number of emerging cultural and tourism equipment products.

A VR exhibit area was set up online to demonstrate the fruitful results of deep integration of Hunan’s cultural tourism and technology through pictures, videos, VR panoramas, and three-dimensional methods. More than 100,000 visitors had an immersive digital visiting experience via scanning a QR code on site or following the WeChat official account of “湖南文化旅游产业博览会”.

100 million yuan of cultural tourism consumption to be achieved

A number of tourism companies presented nearly a thousand tourism products covering tourism specialty products, cultural and creative souvenirs, and hotel room vouchers, launched more than 100 preferential tourist routes, and offered discounts worth more than 10 million yuan to tourists.

Travel agencies have made great innovations to develop tourism products with normalized containment measures in place. Self-drive tours, short-distance trips, and intra-provincial trips were favored by many tourists.

In the 10,000-sqm RV exhibition area, a variety of new RVs were unveiled, attracting nearly 10,000 people within 3 days. Hunan food and hotel industry attracted a large number of visitors.

RVs and tourism equipment, tourist routes, and cultural tourism products were promoted through free tickets, online experience, and livestreaming pre-sale. It is expected to generate 100 million yuan of cultural tourism consumption during the upcoming National Day Golden Week.

Exchange platform for culture and tourism industries built

A number of professional conferences were held to discuss industry development trends, help cultural and tourism companies to address dilemma amid the epidemic, and build an exchange platform for culture and tourism industries.

The Hunan, Hubei, Jiangxi, Guangdong, and Sichuan RV camping cooperation alliance was established. Many RV camping groups and RV technology companies signed cooperation agreements on site to jointly promote the healthy and sound development of the sector.

The Hunan Culture and Tourism Industry Expo was founded in 2000. After years of development, it has been successfully held for 10 sessions. It is the largest professional tourism exhibition in central China with the most complete format.
