Hunan's first centralized management warehouse for imported cold-chain food– Winner-1 warehouse – was put into operation in Yuhua District, Changsha, on September 18, 2021. The imported cold-chain food entering the district will be inspected strictly in this warehouse before being provided in the market.
Imported cold-chain food is popular with residents in Hunan recently, such as cods from Russia and beef from Australia. Yuhua District, an imported distribution center for imported cold-chain food, is the location of more than 80% cold-chain enterprises in Changsha city proper, including such leading enterprises as the Red-star Cold Chain and the Winner-1. The Winner-1 imported cold-chain food warehouse has a storage capacity of 610 tons of goods, and an estimated daily throughput of about 100 tons. Besides, the Red-star cold-chain warehouse with a storage capacity of 1,360 tons is undergoing debugging.
The Winner-1 warehouse has exclusive platforms, elevators, channels, and unloading facilities for imported cold-chain goods. “All imported food should pass a series of examinations before coming in the warehouse, including certificate verification, ‘Xiang Cold Chain’ registration, disinfection, sampling and random inspection; and, get coded when being delivered from the warehouse,” said Wei Xuefeng, deputy director of the Yuhua District Administration for Market Regulation. Supervision authority and consumers can scan the codes to trace the whole closed loop process of import, circulation, and consumption. Once an abnormal result of nucleic acid test is detected, all contacts can be targeted quickly.
