The Changsha National High-Tech Industrial Development Zone (Changsha High-Tech Zone) held a commencement ceremony for seven major projects at the construction site of the “World Computing -- Changsha Wisdom Valley” Project on September 17. Mao Weiming, deputy secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and governor of Hunan Province, announced the start of these projects via video link.
These projects have a total investment of 25.6 billion yuan. Among them, the “World Computing -- Changsha Wisdom Valley” Project, with a total investment of 18 billion yuan, will facilitate Changsha to build itself into a city of computing and sci-tech innovation featuring “city-industry integration, and being intelligent, low-carbon, eco-friendly, attractive to youths and suitable for living and business”.
Ru Shuwei, general manager of Beijing Sinnet Technology Co., Ltd, introduced that, the company will build a cloud computing center in Changsha, hoping to bring together upstream and downstream industries, and boost the rapid development of China’s Internet infrastructure and cloud computing platforms.
A person in charge of the Changsha High-tech Zone noted that, the zone will build a new type of government-business relationship featuring full support, swift actions and meticulous care, and make concerted efforts to advance project construction.
This year, the Changsha government plans to roll out 1,575 major projects with an annual planned investment totaling 391.6 billion yuan. In the first eight months of this year, 334 billion yuan of investment was achieved, accounting for 85.3% of the annual plan and 3.7 percentage points faster than the same period last year.
