On the morning of September 8, the 2021 “Hunan Model Teachers” Award Ceremony and a gathering to celebrate the 37th Teachers’ Day were held in Changsha. Before the meeting, Xu Dazhe, secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and director of the Standing Committee of the Hunan Provincial People’s Congress, and Mao Weiming, deputy secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and governor of Hunan Province, met with representatives of outstanding teachers.

Wu Lan, deputy secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee; Zhang Jianfei, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and secretary general of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee; Xie Weijiang, vice governor of Hunan Province; and, Xu Yunzhao, chairman of the Hunan Education Foundation, attended.

Secretary Xu, on behalf of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and the People’s Government of Hunan Province, congratulated the commended outstanding teachers; paid his high respects to them; and, expressed heartfelt thanks to people from all walks of life who have been caring about and supporting the development of education.

The 2021 “Hunan Model Teachers” selection is sponsored by the Hunan Provincial Department of Education, the Education Working Committee of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee, the Hunan Daily, and the Hunan Education Foundation. Finally, 10 people including Ding Dexin, Wang Liping, Shi Lingzhi, Lu Fangguo, Song Yangling, Zou Xuexiao, He Jishan, Zhang Qiongqiong, Xu Hongyong, and Huang Denghong were awarded the title of “Hunan Model Teachers”. Recognition was also given to another 13 nominees for the awards. They were Yu Hanyu, Zhu Fengying, Xiao Zhongqiu, Qiu Fengjiao, Zhang Gaoxiong, Luo Zhong, Luo Xiaohong, Yi Jin, Guo Yunbing, Guo Xionghui, Xu Yihong, Huang Gang, and Jiang Congqing.
