The 2021 China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS) is held in Beijing between September 2 and 7. The Hunan Pavilion opened to both professional audiences and the public on September 3. Themed “implement the ‘Three Highlands and Four New Missions’ Strategy, and strive to build a modern new Hunan”, it presents Hunan’s efforts and achievements in trade in services.
With the outlook mainly in blue and white, the pavilion covers 100 sqm, full of the elements of creativity and science and technology. Seventeen Hunan enterprises participate in the event in both online and offline modes. Among these, 13 enterprises participate in both online and offline exhibitions; and, 4 participate in online ones. During the fair, Changsha and Liling, both national cultural export bases, will be present at the first National Cultural Export Base Forum.
Hunan’s trade in services has seen a relatively rapid growth and improvement in structure in recent years. In 2020, Hunan’s services export had expanded against headwinds, rising 28.5% to 9.75 billion yuan. With a growth rate nearly 30 percentage points higher than the national, Hunan became the only province that realized positive growth in export among the six provinces in central China.
CIFTIS is the world’s first national-level, international, and comprehensive fair for trade in services. It is one of China’s three world-class exhibition platforms for opening up, alongside the China International Import Expo (CIIE), and the China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair). This session’s theme is “Towards Digital Future and Service-driven Development”. It highlights digital economy and trade, and presents eight sections of services – healthcare; education; telecommunication, computer, and information; financing; culture and tourism; sports; supply chain and business; and, engineering consultation and construction.
