The Changsha Data Resources Management Bureau announced on August 31 that, the Hunan Big Data Exchange Center has been capped. The center is the only trading venue for data elements and digital assets in Hunan Province, and will be the southern branch of the National Geospatial Information Center.
The center is expected to be put into trial operation by the end of this year. Upon operation, it will gather data resources from central and southern provinces to help Changsha seize the commanding heights of strategic significance of the digital economy.
Located at the intersection of Wanjiali South Road and Xinmei Road, the center covers an area of 9,044.1 square meters, with a construction area of 43,493.89 square meters. Based on geospatial data from satellite remote sensing, navigation, positioning, and surveying and mapping, the center will integrate Hunan’s and Changsha’s government data, communication operator data and Internet data, aiming to create a data resource trading venue with national and global influences for data gathering, circulation, and application.
The center obtained the construction permit in April 2021. The main structure of the center’s east and west tower buildings was roofed on August 30, 2021. Construction on steel-structure corridors, steel trusses and glass curtain walls, equipment installation, and decoration will begin soon.
