Hunan province has achieved initial results in COVID-19 epidemic prevention and control and the positive trend has been further consolidated. Nevertheless, the situation is still complicated and severe, and the risks of possible imported cases and resurgence of outbreaks still exist. Recently, Hunan provincial joint prevention and control mechanism, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, issued the “Hunan Provincial Epidemic Prevention and Control Policies and Measures When Traveling”, to remind the public to take precautions while going out.
For the inbound travelers to China and Hunan Province:
-A 14-day centralized quarantine and medical observation should be carried out at the first point of entry, and a routine nasal or throat swab nucleic acid testing will be carried out on the 1st, 4th, 7th, 10th, and 14th day of the centralized quarantine period.
-The inbound travelers who have returned to their place of residence, in principle, should continue to implement centralized quarantine and medical observation before the expiration of the time period of 21 days. And on the second and last days of the continued quarantine period, they will have nucleic acid testing done. After quarantine is completed, they should continue to implement home health monitoring for 7 days, and observe health guidelines and protocols when going out.
For people coming to Hunan from medium and high-risk areas:
-In the past 14 days, those who have a sojourn history in high-risk areas or medium-risk areas with local community-transmitted cases; are close contacts of confirmed or asymptomatic cases; or, are key exposed populations should have a 14-day centralized quarantine and medical observation. They should take a nucleic acid testing on the 1st, 3rd, 7th, 10th, and 14th days of the quarantine period.
-People who have been in close contact with close contacts of confirmed or asymptomatic cases but without taking effective protective measures are considered as close contacts' close contacts. They should be quarantined for at least 7 days, and take nucleic acid testing on the 2nd and 7th days.
-In the past 14 days, people with a living or traveling history in districts, county-level cities, and counties with high-risk areas should have a 7-day home-quarantine and medical observation and a 7-day self-health monitoring at home, and take a nucleic acid testing on the 1st, 3rd, 7th, and 14th day.
-In the past 14 days, people with a sojourn history in cities with medium and high-risk areas should take a 7-day self-health monitoring at home and take the nucleic acid testing for at least two times. The interval between two adjacent detections shall not be less than 24 hours.
In addition, those who have a yellow health QR code, should have the “negative” nucleic acid testing results within 7 days to guarantee regular travel. But they are restricted to enter schools, factories, theaters, large shopping malls, large farmer’s markets, and other crowded and relatively closed places.
