A HO1819 flight from Hangzhou landed at the Zhangjiajie Hehua Airport at 9:16, and then departed for Kunming 50 minutes later, on August 30, 2021. It was the first arrival flight after Zhangjiajie reopened as the epidemic subdued. The “air access” of the city has officially resumed.
Responding to the call for revitalizing air tourism, the Juneyao Airlines took the lead in resuming its flights, said Fu Gaoyu, Juneyao Airlines Zhangjiajie business manager. We try to satisfy passengers’ demands, while sending out a positive message to accelerate revitalization of Zhangjiajie’s air tourism, he added.
Due to the epidemic resurgence, the Zhangjiajie Hehua Airport had cancelled all flights since July 31. In order to revitalize tourism market after the epidemic, the airport made early planning and preparations, coordinated transport capacity, strived to win policy support, and sped up resumption of domestic passenger flight service. The number of daily flights is projected to return to pre-pandemic levels by mid-September.
The Zhangjiajie Airport will focus on both safe production and project construction while maintaining regular epidemic prevention and control, to accelerate resumption of operation. So far, several projects have restarted, including the station site of the B airside concourse, and Yinjiaxi non-directional beacon station. In next phase, construction work will be stepped up to ensure the project schedules will be fulfilled in a quality and efficient manner.
