A decision on designating November 1 as Changsha’s “Entrepreneurs' Day” was adopted through a vote at the 42nd Session of the Standing Committee of the 15th Changsha Municipal People's Congress on August 25, 2021.Two months later, entrepreneurs in Changsha will celebrate their own festival for the first time.

“In 2020, Changsha’s GDP ranked among the top 10 provincial capitals in China, and enterprises and entrepreneurs in the city played an important role,” said Changsha Vice Mayor Chen Peng when explaining the proposal. He added that, the establishment of the Entrepreneurs’ Day is to commend and praise enterprises and entrepreneurs across the city. It will further stimulate their innovation and entrepreneurship vitality, and give full play to their important role in implementing the Three Highlands and Four New Missions Strategy.

The Changsha Municipal People's Government will organize and conduct work on publicizing entrepreneurial spirit from multiple dimensions, building a demonstration city for private economy, and establishing a mechanism for centralized policy release and interpretation, as well as a regular service mechanism to send “policy service packages” to key enterprises.

Around the Entrepreneurs' Day, Changsha plans to hold commendation and publicity activities for typical enterprises and entrepreneurs, and guide them to take the lead in implementing major scientific and technological projects and explore a “Changsha path” to achieve breakthroughs in core technologies in key fields.

Changsha sets up the Entrepreneurs’ Day, not only to show respect and care for entrepreneurs and boost entrepreneurial spirit, but also to demonstrate its firm determination to optimize the business environment.
