On August 25, the donation and distribution ceremony of the 2021 “Love Changes Destiny” Charity for Poorer Students was held in Changsha. Hunan Vice Governor Sui Zhongcheng attended.
Beginning in 2003, the Hunan Charity Federation (HNCF), together with Zoomlion Heavy Industry Science and Technology Co., Ltd., Hunan Economic Television (HNETV), and Xiaoxiang Morning Herald, has carried out the “Love Changes Destiny” charity program for 19 consecutive years. It has raised more than 462 million yuan of charitable donations and subsidized 104,000 poorer students. This year, HNCF also united with municipal and prefecture charity associations in the whole province to integrate charity resources from all parties. Up to now, it has raised 102.5 million yuan in charity grants and will fund 32,249 students in need. At the event site, Vice Governor Sui and others distributed grants and gift packages to 9 aided student representatives from Suining County and other places, encouraging them to forge ahead with enthusiasm and optimism and be successful in their studies. Charitable companies such as Zoomlion, Xiangjiao Winery, and China Tobacco Zhejiang Branch also donated 3.63 million yuan to HNCF.
The person in charge of the Department of Civil Affairs of Hunan Province noted that, it is necessary to:
-Study and implement the spirit of President Xi Jinping’s important instructions on charity work, and promote the charity spirit of helping the weak and the poor and worrying about the world when conducting the Party history learning and education campaign;
-Take part in the activities of “doing pragmatic work for the people” to practice the people-centered idea of “I am for everyone and everyone is for me”;
-Continue to hold “Love Changes Destiny” program, adhering to the idea of “Don't let any child drop out of school due to poverty”;
-Mobilize more caring companies and kind-hearted people to join the program, dedicate their love and care, and bring more public welfare activities to benefit those in great need across Hunan; and,
-Contribute to the implementation of the Three Highlands and Four New Missions Strategy and the construction of a modern new Hunan.
