The week of August 23 to 29 is the 31st National Energy Efficiency Promotion Week in China. According to the unified national deployment, the Hunan Provincial Energy Efficiency Promotion Week was launched at Changsha Xiangfu Cultural Park on August 24, 2021.

Themed “Energy-saving, Carbon Reduction, and Green Development”, the 2021 promotion week will be launched online and offline separately.

Online activities use WeChat mini programs as the carrier, and netizens can participate in knowledge contest on plastic pollution treatment to learn about plastic pollution control policies and other knowledge.

Offline activities will last from August 23 to 29. During this period, Changsha citizens can go to the Xiangfu Cultural Park to watch the exhibition for free. Typical cases and the latest technologies in the fields of energy-saving transformation and resource recycling in Hunan province are showcased via the exhibition.

Zhou Zhenhong, deputy director of the Hunan Provincial Development and Reform Commission, noted that during the “13th Five-Year Plan” period, the provincial energy consumption per unit of GDP fell by 20.1%, and the energy consumption per unit of industrial added value decreased by 27.5%. The industry, transportation, construction, public institutions, and other fields have completed the goal of the dual control of energy consumption. In the first half of this year, the central government released a barometer of the completion of the dual control targets for energy consumption. The total amount and intensity of energy consumption in Hunan all showed green lights, which was affirmed by relevant national departments.
